Regularly check to see that your blade is sharp and secure. Set the mower to the highest cutting point when you move over rough ground that could result in flying debris. Be sure to disengage all attachment clutches and shift your riding lawn mower into neutral before starting.

Maintenance

Your ride on mower should be maintained in good condition, it is like any motor vehicle and needs regular servicing, especailly before the first mowing of the season. Remember, it is not only the actual lawn mower that needs to be kept in good working order, but you need to keep the attachments you use in good condition too. Make sure all the attachments are free of rust so that they move freely and properly. Periodically tighten nuts and bolts on the attachments to avoid any unwanted accidents.

Accessories

Ride on lawn mowers come with a vast arrangement of accessories, most of which you will need to buy seperatley and some you may never need at all. However, sometimes safety devices and guards can get in the way. They are not nearly as inconvenient as losing an arm, a foot or another body part that is subject to the unrelenting blades and quick-moving parts of ride on lawn mowers. Keep those safety features in place.

Ride on mowers are the most expensive form of lawn mowers to buy and prices start from around £499 and can run up into the thousands, depending on engine size and tasks it is able to perform.
